Mechanical engineers require a solid understanding of key concepts including mechanics of Machinery, kinematics, thermodynamics principles, energy systems and manufacturing technology. They utilize these principles in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, buildings and bridges, industrial equipment & machinery, and many more
Special Machines in Mechanical Lab
CNC Lathe, CNC Milling, Capstan and Turret Lathe, Heat and Mass Transfer Testing Equipments, IC Engines for performance Test with Mechanical & Electrical Loading Attachments, Boiler Power plant (Industrial type), Francis & Belton Wheel Turbines.
Hydraulic & Pneumatic PLC Controllers, Software Packages: CAD/CAM & FEM (Auto CAD, PROE, Solid Works, Edge Works,Ideas, Master CAM, Unigraphics, XSTEEL, Structural CAD, 3DStudio MAX, etc.)

1. our department staff and students have participated and presented in National and International conferences in India and Abroad.
2. Many national and international level technical symposiums and seminars were conducted successfully by our Mechanical Association team.
3. The eminent professors called from reputed organizations and institutions like IGCAR, BHEL, IIT, MIT, Anna University, NIT, VIT, etc.,
Highlights and Special Features
- A special coaching is given to the students at the design and analysis, thermal systems and manufacturing sectors
- Flexible Manufacturing System is established in CAM lab
- Air conditioned seminar hall with laptop, LCD projector, OHP and Smart class system are established
We developed our FMS lab with MODROBS funding.A proposal to set up an “Advanced Materials Research Center” in association with University of WISCONSIN- Stout (USA) is at an advanced stage.
Mr. Rammohan final year student has presented a technical paper in the International conference in Kuwait and awarded as best paper in the december 2011 also appreciated by the vice chancellor of Anna University Chennai.
